 Honda Specials Help Out

Policing of the TT weekend was boosted with 30 special constables courtesy of Honda UK. Honda UK General Manager Bob McMillan was joined by 29 instructors from the Honda Motorcycle Appreciation Course to help out over the weekend.

The riders were sworn in as special constables in Ramsey on Saturday morning before joining the Island's regular officers to keep the roads safe. The instructors are all former Police motorcycle instructors who now run courses for Honda bike owners in the UK.

Bob explained the company, which had been a long-time supporter of the TT, was happy to join in. 'When we heard the TT was off we knew there was the potential for traffic accidents so we offered the services of our instructors to help the Isle of Man Police make it a bit safer'.

The riders helped out on Mad Sunday, patrolling the TT Circuit to help ensure visitors and local bikers rode safely. Police Inspector Carolyn Kinrade said 'We are delighted to be joined by our friends from Honda'.
