Today is the anniversary of Joey Dunlop's tragic
accident at the Tallinn Road Races in Estonia. So much
has been written about Joey since that tragic day, it
is pointless me trying to add more to what has already
been said about the greatest Road Racer of all time.
Now I am a firm believer that some of the 'Joey Dunlop
Tribute' items being sold around the world are
distasteful, and I also feel that the whole incident
should be left to rest for the sake of his family. The
best use of Joey's famous name is the Joey Dunlop
Injured Riders Fund, which I am sure you will have
heard about by now.
But to mark the first anniversary of Joey's death we
are making the wallpaper image below available for you
to download so that you can see Yermaun on his way to
THAT Formula One win, every time you switch on you
computer.
The Picture has been provided by our regular
Photographer David Collister with the kind permission
of the Isle of Man Government. The picture was turned
into a poster by the Government, which is still
available from Moochers Market in Douglas, with
proceeds going to the Joey Dunlop Injured Riders Fund.
I hope you all think this as a tasteful way of
remembering Joey and I apologise if you don't.
