Two-Strokes Confirmed at Billown for 2011

Following on from a recent request to 125 & 250cc competitors to confirm their commitment to racing their two-stroke machines at the Manx Telecom Post TT Road Races and the Steam Packet Southern ‘100’ International Road Races, the organising club Southern 100 Racing are now pleased to confirm that 125cc and 250cc racing will continue on the Billown Course during 2011.

Race Secretary, George Peach said: ‘After our recent Media Release requesting riders and sponsors to contact us regarding their 250cc and 125cc racing commitments for this year, particularly at the Post TT and Southern 100 Races, we have received sufficient support to ensure that the popular two-stroke machines will once again be heard in anger around the 4.25-mile Billown Course in June and July 2011.’

As in previous years, the 125cc machines will race with the four-stroke 400cc bikes, whilst the 250’s will be incorporated with the fast growing SuperTwin 650cc class.

This format will be used in both the Manx Telecom Post TT Road Races and the Steam Packet Southern ‘100’ International Road Races, with separate prize funds for each class at both meetings.

The Manx Telecom Post TT Road Races are scheduled to take place on Saturday 11th June, with the 55th Steam Packet Southern ‘100’ International Road Races, taking place between Monday and Thursday 11th to the 14th July 2011.
