Lindsey to Miss TT -
Confirmed
|
|
Twenty eight year old Darren Lindsay from Lisburn,
Northern Ireland will miss this year' Isle of Man TT. He plans to take a year
out of racing on the pure road circuits this year, however he hasn't ruled out
a return in 2002
This news comes at a bad time for Pure Road Racing,
with Darren showing last year that he could be one of the future stars of the
sport. In 2000 Darren won an amazing four Man of the Meeting Awards in Ireland
on his way to winning the 125cc Superkings Championship and the Irish 125cc
Road Racing Championship. He also finished second and third respectively in the
600cc and 250cc Irish Road Racing Championships with a fifth in the 125c
Lightweight race on a sick bike being his best TT finish.
Lindsay who was
involved in the Monaghan accident, which claimed the lives of Andrew McLean and
Gary Dynes, plans to concentrate on the 125cc class for 2001 with selected
rounds of the MRO and European championships pencilled in plus all the Irish
Short Circuit meetings.
