Mad Sunday or Sad Sunday
|
|
Mad Sunday turned out to be a bit of a disappointment
yesterday, as the Isle of Man remains strangely quite
for the TT Festival.
The Steam packet company had estimated that the
numbers arriving for this year's festival would be as
high as 12,000 to 15,000, but at the moment it seems
that this isn't the case.
Successful events including the Beach race at Peel and
the Streetfighter Challenge in Ramsey could have kept
many people away from the TT course itself. However,
it was strange to see the course minus the droves of
bikes and large queue's, normally associated with Mad
Sunday.
Hopefully the lack of interest by most people for this
years alternative festival will prove beyond any doubt
that the racing is the heart of the TT, and for it to
continue the racing has to stay and be improved upon
if possible.
