Motorcycle Gymkhana Preview
|
If you missed the opportunity of watching world famous
Purple Helmets at Onchan Stadium last week, there is
another chance to see the hilarious two-wheel troupe
at the same venue this Thursday, June 21.
The Helmets will be appearing alongside some truly
world famous stars such as Steve Colley, Dougie
Lampkin and Steve Hislop at a special Motorcycle
Gymkhana being organised to celebrate the 50th
anniversary of the stadium.
World trials champion Lampkin and local rival Colley
will be giving a demonstration of their prowess, while
Hislop will be one of six top name local riders in the
Alternative TT. Others are Jason Griffiths, Dave
Molyneux, Richard Quayle, Paul Dedman and Paul Hunt.
They will each be pulling 'willing' passengers in a
series of races (Lightweight, Junior and Senior)
whilst negotiating various obstacle courses.
Also appearing will be the Peveril Aces (stunt riders
of the 1950s) and 1930s speed demon George
Shuttleworth on his famous 'Snap' from the TT film No
Limit.
It all promises to be a fun packed evening of
entertainment for all the family, with the admission
fee of just £3 for adults and £2 for children under
16. The show starts at 7.45pm.
