Connor Cummins Double Victory
|
|
Conor Cummins had a double victory and
two 3rd places last weekend at Jurby using slick tyres for the first time
and becoming the youngest ever winner of a road race on the IOM and setting
his own personal best lap time and fastest laps in both races.
For iomracing
it was a perfect result and one which we hoped Conor could achieve with our
first venture into sponsorship and the launch of our web-site. Conor will be
joined in the team soon, maybe before the end of the season by my son 14
year old Steven Grose who is undergoing preliminary training at the moment.
Steven has hardly ever ridden a bike up until now and is making stunning
progress.
Conor will be riding our machine at Three Sisters next weekend and
also "The Stars of Tomorrow" race at Darly Moor on Aug 27th Bank holiday for
riders under 16. This is quite a big event for juniors with big prize money
and the ACU race Academy scouts will be there to select the winners for the
Academy. Bikesport news will carry extensive coverage of this race and Conor
could be amongst the leading bunch with a bit of luck. On the iomracing
site there is a rider profile of Conor ( just gone up ) giving his history
etc.
We hope to get Conor out on one of the larger circuits before the end
of the year, Donington or Oulton possibly, we will see how he improves but
he should be OK. He is only a few signatures short of his National licence
and will be eligible for MRO Championship when he gets this licence for next
season.
