The 2001 Mid Antrim Road Races Preview
|
The Mid Antrim 150 Road Races take place this weekend,
and strangely enough, it is the first Road Race
meeting in Ulster this year, due to the ongoing Foot
and Mouth crisis.
An all star cast are set to light the Clough circuit
on fire with the un-stopable Adrian Archibald heading
the field. Ryan Farquahr making his second appearance
on Irish Roads this year is the most likely man to
challenge the Honda rider with Richard Britton on his
Yamaha machinery also expected to go well.
John Donnan is enjoying a good season as is the
'comeback kid' Gary Jess and his sparring partner
Colin Rodgers.
Also look out for the ever improving
Seamus Greene and Uel Duncan's protege Alex Donaldson.
Robert Dunlop heads the entry in the smaller classes
on his home circuit, with Marc Curtain, Darren Burns,
Rikki McReady and Barry Davidson expected to go well
in the 125 class. Burns, McReady and Davidson are
joined by Richard Britton on the TZ Motorcycles
machine and Davy Morgan on the Crossgar backed bike in
the 250 race.
Stephen Wilson will be supplying us with a report from
the meeting on Saturday night. TT Website would like
to wish the club, officials and all riders a safe and
enjoyable days racing.
