Marshals Association Organises Incident Management Courses

The Isle of Man TT Marshals Association is again organising incident management courses, to be held during the winter months. With most of the racing cancelled this year, it is felt particularly important for marshals to brush up on their skills.

The courses are aimed at all those who intend to marshal at motorcyling events on the Isle of Man who have not completed a course in the last three years. The training is valid for three years and covers all aspects of incident management, including first aid and helmet removal as well as handling flags, helicopter procedures and all other related topics. The courses are held one night a week over four consecutive weeks commencing at 7.30pm.

The first course will be held at St John Ambulance headquarters, Glencrutchery Road, Douglas on October 4, 11, 18 and 25.

The second course is in Peel, at a venue to be confirmed, on November 8, 15, 22 and 29. The third course, at a venue to be confirmed, will be held on February 7, 14, 21 and 28 and the fourth course, again at a venue to be confirmed, on March 7, 14, 21 and 28 (all Thursdays).

Please check your last certificate if you have attended a course in the past. If it was prior to the winter of 99/2000 then please put your name forward for a refresher course.

If you interested in attending one of the above courses please contact the secretary, Sue on 01624 862192 or the chairman of the IoMTTMA, Roger on 01624 851881 or 01624 492040, or your chief sector marshal, to give them your details and specify the course date of your choice.
