Contests Forgotten Era Series |
|
Sulby rider, Brian Kneale has been contesting this
years British Forgotten Era Championships on his own RG 500cc
Suzuki.
Racing on a shoestring budget after having made the initial
large outlay for the exotic machine, and thus far failing to attract any
sponsorship for his effort, Kneale has defied the odds, to hold on to a
well-earned second place in the Open category. |
|
All but one of the circuits have
been new to Brian this year and the last time he rode at Cadwell Park was
nearly ten years ago! He is trailing Lea Gourlay in the Championship who is a
well-known short circuit scratcher.
His next outing in the Championship
is at Aintree this weekend where he will have his first ride on the 250cc Honda
he is to campaign at the Manx Grand Prix.
Shaun Brown, who was due to
use the bike at the TT, has been making good use of it so far this season in
the MRO Championship, plus a good outing at Scarborough. Ex Manx rider, Stewart
Smith owns the well-prepared bike, which Brian hopes to take to victory in this
years Lightweight Manx.
