Roy Mooreisms - Promor - 12-05-2015 I love listening to Roy's commentary from Randy Hairpin, here's hoping we get a few more gems from him. It's a shame we lost the thread from the old site, but a couple that I remember "just listen to the Italian national anthem" when Gary Johnson went through on the MV. and from the Southern "they should just about to be in Maurice's s#1te by now" RE: Roy Mooreisms - DaveOldham - 14-05-2015 And it's 1-2-3, as quick as that RE: Roy Mooreisms - John Foster - 23-05-2015 I confess to having been responsible for starting the Roy Moorisms thread on the vanished site. I'll try to link to that archive here so that, hopefully, Roy Moore fans can refresh the memories and post some new quotes from the master. http://www.iomtt.com/Home/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PageIndex=1&PostID=114665 Roy Moore - DaveOldham - 11-06-2015 Roy came out with quite possibly his best of all time during the electric bikes: "And Guy Martin is through, still holding on to that 14 second disadvantage..." RE: Roy Mooreisms - John Foster - 11-06-2015 Earlier this week: "He's got people champing at his bit." RE: Roy Moore - harveymushman - 11-06-2015 Didnt RM say about the weather - "the breeze is blowing the wind away" RE: Roy Moore - DaveOldham - 11-06-2015 Another of his classics that one! I remember him once saying "it's absolutely warm out here" RE: Roy Mooreisms - Steady the Edward - 12-06-2015 And such a ice guy when you meet him without a microphone in his hand , a 100% gent . RE: Roy Mooreisms - John Foster - 12-06-2015 "The gap between them is 11.993 seconds. Let's call it 20." RE: Roy Mooreisms - Yamanx - 15-06-2015 "He's gone round at 130mph Ramsey to Ramsey from a standing start" RE: Roy Mooreisms - MIKE B8S - 19-06-2015 Cant quote him exactly but does anyone else remember during one of the races he spoke about the farm animals thinking they where going for a day out but they where actually going to the slaughter house. Did make me chuckle to myself RE: Roy Mooreisms - RedlineRick - 22-06-2015 (19-06-2015, 06:27 PM)MIKE B8S Wrote: Cant quote him exactly but does anyone else remember during one of the races he spoke about the farm animals thinking they where going for a day out but they where actually going to the slaughter house. Did make me chuckle to myself I Think that was on Monday the 8th in the pre-race introduction story telling, "Going for a little trip"... "Turns left at Tromode, an might be in a burger by Friday". RE: Roy Mooreisms - Promor - 09-07-2015 Today they played a clip from the 1964 Southern 100 it wasn't Roy commentating, but there was the classic line " sometimes you push and push and nothing happens" from the days before clutch starts but could easily be taken in another context. RE: Roy Mooreisms - Lemmys Motorheads - 29-05-2017 I've just heard a classic one from Roy, I'm currently listening to the pre TT classic races and he said "if it wasn't so cold it would be a wee bit warmer" RE: Roy Mooreisms - Alfie Noakes - 29-05-2017 trying to catch Roy at home is tricky too ........ he's either not in or he's out. RE: Roy Mooreisms - sticky - 29-05-2017 he seems to have it a dim view of one particular Pre-TT Classic competitor. I wonder what 'effin' Owen's real Christian name is? RE: Roy Mooreisms - RedlineRick - 29-05-2017 A yes the pressure is on! Did I hear that John McGuinness was in one of the races earlier??? Will have to check the tapes for that one! I wonder what 'effin' Owen's real Christian name is?Rider is Hefyn Owen from Anglesey. Did anyone listen to him talking about getting French leasons after miss- pronouncing a French sidecar crew's name, he said he got the French lesson details from a phone box!!!!!! Classic coments from the classic races RE: Roy Mooreisms - RedlineRick - 30-05-2017 +1 on the French Lessons I take it that the mention of John McGuinness was a Roy memory to fill 'dead air' as they say in radio speak that got interrupted as the bikes approached. I guess the Paton made Roy think of JM as I've never remembered him to do the Southern Races and a quick search of southern100.com found no results. "Thoughts of John McGuinness at the ah... ep a there's only one rider here" then "Well John McGuinness took the win in the Classic TT, the 500" another one found in the 850cc Classic Bill Swallow in the lead with his distinctive black leathers, "He's not letting advertising encroach on his riding style" RE: Roy Mooreisms - julesb - 05-06-2017 The house down the road is called Whitegates, because it has a white gate !! |
