RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 03-01-2021 If it's on the course somewhere in the hedge looking west between Kirk Michael, Orrisdale and Alpine where it's flat and fields drop down to beach/coastline - or the old railway line path that runs through there to Ramsey ? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 03-01-2021 Not taken from the course Alfie but it is looking west RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 03-01-2021 ahha .. not on course would negate most of over the top apart from very top Snaefell ?, struggling a bit - maybe the Brandywell / Sartfell rd that runs down / splits off to Cronk y Voddy and top of Barregarrow ? .... or Jurby / Smeale(good beach fishing to be had up there) ...... ......... blunderbuss put down ... and scattergun picked up hehe RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 03-01-2021 Better put the scattergun down too ![]() RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 03-01-2021 hahaha - my last blast is Corrins Folly / Tower @ Port Erin ... boom. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 03-01-2021 Good guess Alfie - but wrong! I'll spill the beans if no-one gets it by the end of the evening RE: Who, What, Where, When? - bsa499 - 03-01-2021 Is it taken from Niarbyl Bay? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 03-01-2021 I'm going to give you that. It's a few hundred yards past the Niarbyl turn off just going up the hill out of Dalby. I'm assuming that's the Mountains of Mourne in the distance. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - bsa499 - 04-01-2021 The Isle of Man is rightly famous for the Mountain Course races (and the S100). Strangely though it's not so famous for its natural beauty which it has in spades. My introduction to the Island's beauty was reinforced by twice taking part in the IoM Scooter Rally back in the 70's which included enduros of 100 and 200 miles in length. Those enduros included a lot of off and on-road work and one of those routes took us around the Niarbyl area. It is a stunning place, particularly at sunset on a clear day. This thread is ace, once again many thanks Sticky. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 04-01-2021 Nice words / spot BSA ... RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 04-01-2021 Cheers guys. I was heading to Port Erin to get some sunset shots and I saw this almost pastel scene and had to stop and grab a shot. It says 9.21pm on the EXIF data but could be out by a few mins... This seems to have been well received so I think I'll have a look for some more Island scenes - I may have to crop into some detail to try and confuse you ![]() Back to the bikes - who do we have here and where? ![]() [url=https://flic.kr/p/2kp1stf] RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Sam Pato - 05-01-2021 I'm going with Adrian Archibald on the 600 TAS Suzuki. I think the location is the climb up to Waterworks 1 from just after the Ramsey hairpin. Cheers Sam RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sprocket - 05-01-2021 I must be tired cos I kinda recognise this part of the course but then again I'm not sure. Initially thought exiting Ramsey hairpin heading towards waterworks but then could it be the exit of the left hander of Glen Helen heading to Sarahs cottage. However, if it was taken before the prohibited areas came in, then maybe the right hander after ballaspur It's the amount of black lines that's confusing me.. Either way, I'm off to bed..😄 RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 05-01-2021 Exit of Waterworks 2 running up to Tower Bends ? .. love the variation of early / late in lines.. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Chris_Sav - 05-01-2021 That didn't last long! though the Suki might be bigger than 600 RE: Who, What, Where, When? - HammerHead - 05-01-2021 (05-01-2021, 12:02 AM)Sam Pato Wrote: I think the location is the climb up to Waterworks 1 from just after the Ramsey hairpin. This was my immediate thought too. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 05-01-2021 Alfie has the location right. It's not Archie on a 600 though RE: Who, What, Where, When? - ian333 - 05-01-2021 DJ ran swift leathers I seem to remember? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Sam Pato - 05-01-2021 I noticed a typo in my previous post.... It's David Jefferies on the TAS GSXR1000 ![]() RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 05-01-2021 Sorry Sam - it isn't! |
