Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 Well, Don, all I can say is...have a look at the picture of Barry Wood (homo sapiens manxii)on the real road racing message board. Now if a Martian was to land and see this example of the species.... Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 AS a visitor to the Island since 1947, do I qualify for a special residential category.. Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 An "alien" resident maybe!! Barry W is very quiet!!!! Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 Better Late than never. Guilty as charged. I live in Peel and have done for 23 years. Not so much of a come over as a stop over with Manx roots thanks to my grandparents. Much like the other manxies here, I would not choose to live anywhere else ever. Pace of life is right, people are always friendly (unless you get in BW's Taxi...lol) and above all it is safe 99.999999% of the time. What more could you ask for?...oh yeah almost forgot, we don't have to travel for the TT, MGP or Southern 100...lmao Fitz. Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 ....but BW told me it is a very long way from Douglas to Castletown... Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 Hillary dont be too hard on Barry he rescued me from an embarrasing situation at Skerries. Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 Helen; It's about 900 miles from Douglas to Castletown but you can do it in a couple of days.Alas getting to Jurby is another matter. Yes bring me a "dark Island" in case I can't get to Scotland for the authentic touch. Actually Don,just what DO the Manx people do between TT's? Not too long ago we used to have lots of TT quizzes, film shows (remember those?) before videos spoilt everything, and other fund raising events like the Sulby Glen Mhelliah--although sadly I didn't make it last year. Now we have computers we can talk to each other around the world as if we were standing at the bar !!!! Anyway Hilary what IS this photo ur on about ?? lol Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 26-01-2003 Anytime Pykey, been in a similar situation myself. Not much fun! Re: IOM Residents - Anonymous - 27-01-2003 Barry---do you mean the one when there was a thatch on top of your head?!!!!!lol Re: IOM Residents Barry Wood - Anonymous - 28-01-2003 Hi Barry and others--After I phones you I still feel that you should have your "Mike Hailwood" article from 1978-79 reprinted !! I found it again recently and it was a very good article-- The rest of your fans could see just how you developed !!! Re: IOM Residents Barry Wood - Anonymous - 28-01-2003 |
