I helped repair a triumph street triple that was an insurance wriite off from falling off the stand snapped the lock stops - tiger 800  can bend the rear footrest hangers - W/Off.

When I hired bikes on the island they were about £80 a day only had one damaged which was an American marshall who I did a special deal with cos I was a marshal - gave him a mint fazer for 3 weeks and he dropped it twice and ragged the ar$$ of it - bald tyres and stretched chain -hid the damage then got upset when i only charged him £40 for 2 tank decals.

I'd check on the cost of insuring & taxing before you buy a bike...................

I used this one during 2014 TT for a week. Highlighted my TT experience even though quite expensive.

Anyone got any idea whether you could even get insurance for a Manx registered bike if you don't have a Manx address ?  You would also have to have a Manx address to register it at.

Hey!! guys
just checked out the prices of the flights to IOM for the TT race week...
I think maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all £404 each way doesn't sound like a good deal to me..
Think i'll go back to the drawing board..

I always fly.......... however this year it is cheaper to take a bike on the boat, and with the increased capacity that's exactly what I'm going to do. Either my Mother will go to the racket offices on cancellation day in March, or I will rock up as standby. Make a nice change to take a bike, I shall make it something interesting, probably the Speed Triple Mk1 in my avatar, make a change from running it up the road and back.
