RE: Monday 3rd June - warrior - 04-06-2019 Another interesting thing here About 4 years ago a guy called Mike Moulai was leading the Senior MGP when it was stopped on the 4th and final lap, he crossed the line leading at the end of lap 3, the red flags came out halfway around lap 4. So he won right? erm wrong, on that occasion according to the clerk of the course the race had to go back to the end of the last full lap that EVERYONE had completed, so they wound it back to the end of lap 2. When the race was stopped today the last lap completed by all competitors was lap 1, so does that mean Harrison should have been crowned the victor today as he was leading at the end of lap 1? work that one out!! RE: Monday 3rd June - Report Links & Results - canamant - 04-06-2019 Another interesting point. Yesterday they put the chequered flag out at the end of lap 2 when the leaders on the road were coming in for a pit stop so they crossed the finish line at 36mph. Once the followers saw the flag they finished on the road at 160mph thereby gaining time. Did anyone lose out by this ? RE: Monday 3rd June - Report Links & Results - HammerHead - 05-06-2019 I guess there will always be winners and losers whatever they do. In the 2015 Superbike TT when Michael Dunlop crashed at the Nook on the last lap there were only 6 riders to complete the full 6 lap distance. The remainder were ranked from 7th downwards on their times at the end of lap 5. Only the first 6 got (silver) replicas. Excluding retirements the top 5 would have been the same if it was called at the end of lap 5 but Michael Rutter grabbed 6th place by virtue of finishing when he had been behind Dan Kneen at the end of lap 5 (who ended up 7th). |
