RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 10-02-2023

Sailings were rearranged yesterday and the Ben allocated to the TT runs instead of Manxman. I managed to grab a couple of crossings, premium lounge was completely empty on both runs as no reserved seating could be booked previously due to the uncertainty over which vessel was on the run and different seating, so pick of seats.

Yes reserved seating upgrades on the Ben TT runs should be available for a while

whats that old saying
start as you mean to carry on
every year they were running on reduced power so this gear box fault could be the new excuess for running slower and saving fuel

Trials are back on!

According to the timetable, first sailing is 01.30 from Belfast on 16th july, & onwards,
so it looks like it will be on for the Manx,
but 3 days too late for S100! Laught01

Handover day should be today, due to head for Blighty on Friday.

Honestly don't know if this link will work, they keep changing the website, I only usually use it to track The Ben or Mannannannannan-annan, when we're ready to set off for the Island!

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 10-05-2023

Link works but shore station AIS will only show her position when the vessel  is in range of a shore station.

Need satellite AIS for global reports and that normally requires paying

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 13-05-2023

Sailed this morning on the first hop to Singapore.

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 16-05-2023

Destination changed to Hong Kong this morning, docking today, last shore AIS showed her off Taiwan heading South East away from Hong Kong.

Hope its not more problems.

Off Hong Kong this morning, cannot find why

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - captainsparkledotcom - 17-05-2023

Picking up supplies. apparently!

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 17-05-2023

Well spotted!

You would have thought she would have had enough fuel on departure to get to the first scheduled stop at Singapore.

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - captainsparkledotcom - 17-05-2023

I would have thought so too, until I did a quick Google.
Flying distance, Ulsan to Hong Kong (as the crow flies, so to speak!) is , apparently, 1292 miles,
that sounds like a long way for a Ro-Ro ferry,
to me, anyway.

Maybe the actual MPG isn't as good as they thought!!

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 18-05-2023

Asked a nice person at cruisemapoper, which does satellite tracking, whether they would add Manxman and they have.

https://www.cruisemapper.com/ships/Manxman-ferry-1744

She should be trackable the whole journey now.

Excellent!
thanks Chris, make a change from watching the Ben!  Big Grin

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - Chris_Sav - 24-05-2023

She's finally made Singapore.

They are assessing ship's systems after the unscheduled diversion to Hong Kong due to additional bunkering necessitated by contamination of fuel.and parts for repairs needed according to the skipper's blog.

looks like shes making good progress

RE: Manxman Arrival Gets Closer - captainsparkledotcom - 22-06-2023

Off the coast of Portugal now, soon to enter the Bay of Biscay!
But, what's it going to do 'til 22nd July!
Couple of weeks ago it was due to start on 16th July, from Belfast,
but now it's 22nd July from Heysham, at least according to the newly revised timetable!
I can't even get to see it's first arrival at Heysham (like I did for the Ben & the various fastcraft)
'cos we're doing a Hill climb that weekend!  Icon_cry
