Don,

thanks for posting that great, nostalgic pic of Bob Mac.
That man and pics like that got me hooked on the T.T. in the first place!

One of my clearest memories is riding pillion with another Bob Mac fan to attend the memorial meeting at Oulton Park (62?)
It was an epic ride for us from Staines on an old Matchless 500 twin.
But it seemed we just HAD to go!

Bob Mac would be 78 now and is still remembered around the world.
It was on the 50th anniversary of the TT that he broke the 100mph lap.
In every photo he seems to be giving it everything. I suppose it would be called 'body language' today.

I hope the Mercury MCC don't mind me using this other fabulous photo.

On my wall i have a picture of Bob at Aintree on a Honda 4 it was the first time he had ridden it, bought the picture of Malcom Carling's dad who used to sell photos and badges at all m/cylcle events, if you went to Scarborough he was always at the top of the steps that lead down to the banking, does anyone know if Macolm is still around as he was the main photographer for MCN when it was a quality read?

MY FAVOURITE PIC - ian huntly - 06-09-2006

I took this photo outside the Sulby Glen Hotel just as Bob Mac retired his 250cc Honda after a storming 99.+ lap in the TT.

He subsequently signed the pic for me in the Castle Mona and said "Oh, that's when I broke it!...."
