I only met him once at Parliament Square in 2004 and he seemed in good health. A book of his work was published for the centenary - another source of inspiration I've no doubt. I really should get a copy.. :oops:

I got the book for xmas some of his shots are amazing and gives you quite a few ideas that is if you can still get to some of the places that Don got to(just think what he could have done with digital)I also got the other two books which as some excellent shots in maybe some of yours are in them

Thanks for the replys guys....I made the mistake of buying my camera while on the isle of man "not alot of time to practice with my new toy etc".
I had my cam set on iso 200 with shutter priority and manual focus.
Its not Whitegates sticky, its a very quick corner tho.

I bought the book for "research" purposes and sat down with a pen and paper and went through the whole book. It turned out to be three lists:
Been there, Can't go there and not been there! Guess which was the largest by the end of the book?

It's Hillberry. Taken from the stand I presume?

This is one I took in 2004 of Ian Pattinson at Hillberry, The exhaust can had grounded and gave a bright flash.

You can see the side road which is clearer in Chris's photo of Steve Linsdell on the Paton

Yup your right its Hillberry from the bank tho.......Thats a class picture and super sharp n crisp.

Nikon D80 135mm lens.

Its also worth walking around the pit area some good photos to be had.
