RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - van man - 13-06-2015 Won the senior by a mile maybe everyone else rode to team orders as some like to suggest RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Sussex Ninja Gal' - 13-06-2015 I'm absolutely ecstatic for John. What a remarkable performance yesterday - especially after a poor week (by his exceptional standards). I've only just seen the highlights on the ITV Player & he was unstoppable from the off when the re-run got under way. I know Hutchy had problems with a cracked exhaust after the half way point, but I can't think even on a Kwak that was 100% he could've lived with JM. A superb ride by James Hillier too; and pleasing to see Guy finally getting his backside into gear & joining the ever-growing 132+ club. And what about Peter Hickman?! Sticking in a 131+ mph lap on a 'stocker in only his 2nd year?! That lad is surely destined for TT glory in the not-too-distant'. Oh & a huge THANK YOU to Malcolm for all his work & commitment to running this superb forum; and to all the contributers that have enriched this old fart's TT 2015 immeasurably - since I didn't make it over there this year. I'm going again next year though, so I'd better get my act together asap. Oh, and a week's break on the Island next month isvery appealing at the mo. Affordable (ish) ferry crossings plus B&B accomodation; & days spent circulating around The Mountain Course: what could possibly be better? Marvelous stuff. RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Westers - 13-06-2015 Does JM still come onto this forum? If so, it would be good to hear from him exactly what the difference was between the start of the week and the end. I know he said they made a few changes to the bike, yet that ride was all about a shift in mentality. One seriously strong minded bloke. RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - harveymushman - 14-06-2015 He will be answering that in the mid week media dont you think - Glad he's winning petrol engine races at the TT had this awful thought on Thursday that he was going equal Joeys record in just 4 Zero races and match Joey in 2019 having completed only 4 laps. Don't know how I would have felt about that RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - mazza - 14-06-2015 john will stay going for 2 more years at least I think, hopefully longer he's running at the front and winning, what more can 1 do + the superbike is where he is most at home and the Honda is a well sorted superbike RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Kieranzxt - 14-06-2015 He said in an interview he'd be happy to match Joeys 26 and then hang his boots up RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - c iom tt - 14-06-2015 I watched the Senior from Gorselea. I dont know about anywhere else on the circuit, but he was visibily quicker than everyone else through there, and flat out as aposed to some of the other front runners ( Including MD I was suprised to see) who were rolling it off a bit. Class act, no mistake. You mustn't break any lap records today, leave that to John" Brilliant end to the week! RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - R7A5B0 - 14-06-2015 a fantastic performance by john, but i would still like to see him retire . pushing that pace is no easy task as he gets older , i would love to see him go out on a high and it doesnt get any higher than a senior win. i sincerely hope no one at honda did have words to the effect his job was on the line, he owes them absolutely nothing and the isle of man is not the place to be adding any more pressure to riders that have more on their plate than any other two wheeled race on the planet. RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Alfie Noakes - 14-06-2015 Just before the off Superbike Race. RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Alfie Noakes - 14-06-2015 Just before the off Senior Race .. looks a different person and ready to go. The same John Mac that wore a replica of Joey's 2000 leathers but noone from Honda told Michael Dunlop that was going to happen -I believe. 26 TTs is a record to be broken just like a sub 17 or 133mph -BUT maybe not on a Mugen Zero RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Ken37.73 - 14-06-2015 (14-06-2015, 01:48 PM)c iom tt Wrote: I watched the Senior from Gorselea. Same at the bottom of Barregarrow. PS. There's a few on here that could show JM a bit of respect. For what he's achieved he deserves that. RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - numptydad - 15-06-2015 Class act, indeed; let's hear it for JM130 Dave RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Alfie Noakes - 15-06-2015 There's no lack of respect from me for anybody committing all they have then sticking themselves and their machine on Glencrutchery Rd, been up there myself and sadly now only armed with a pass and a camera - still gets me buzzin' and hairs on end though seeing all the stuff going on. I hadn't seen John look like that before, didn't take pics for any other reason than just taking pics to look at later to remind myself of how good it is to be up there and I put the pics up as a correlation to the race results and post/thread question. RE: Could this be JM130's last TT? - Smudger's Lodger - 19-06-2015 Reading the comments on this thread posted prior to the Senior race makes for some interesting reading. I too wondered whether we'd seen the best of JM130. Clearly, he had other ideas and pulled out a dramatic and very impressive Senior race performance, one that will surely cement his place alongside Joey whether he surpasses his TT win record or not. Hope JM130 continues and provides a target for the young guns to chase and emulate. As many have said, a real class act, keep it coming John. |
