RE: TTXGP - c iom tt - 06-02-2009 One of the problems( and only one mind!) is that it would appear that Alison et al,seem to think that we(as ardent TT fans) are a bunch of numskulls.I dont think that they thought for one nanosecond, that there spin would be questioned. What they have failed to comprehend,is that not only,as TT fans,we are knowlegable on our subject, but that also there are a significant amout of us that can challenge anything they say on a professional level. When there mistakes have been highlighted, they have NEVER apologised or back pedeled, but have amennded there posts, and ignored the issue.Whenever there has been a question that may point out issues with the TTXGP,it has been mainly(but not always) been ignored. Since a couple of posting by a member (who has done the risk assessment that should have been done before this should have been considered at ANY motosport event, never mind the TT) on iomtt.com,the silence has been deafening! RE: TTXGP - MV - 06-02-2009 I have just read the whole of the thread on the other website As a result, I have rather lost interest in TTXGP as it is being SO badly represented Lets have the strokers back on The Mountain please RE: TTXGP - Don Simons - 09-02-2009 At Macau they have a serious scooter race and I am told it gets very competitive. At least you can hear and smell them. RE: TTXGP - deejay51 - 11-02-2009 Oh, now I am over here to!!! Just checking if ANY new news is forthcoming........ Hi ciomtt!! www.deejay51.com RE: TTXGP - Mad_Sunday - 11-02-2009 Alison Wrote:Another entrant goes public This bike will NOT do the 150 miles quoted! Why? because it has the lights on, that's why! Hi ciomtt!!Hi dejay 51 Things seem a bit more calmer and balanced over here!TTXGP lot seem to have gone to ground though? RE: TTXGP - Alison - 18-02-2009 I am very very pleased to announce a new Team; ManxTTx, including my very good friends and all resident Manx men/women. Some house keeping : The Anglesey Track Day is a closed session so please disregard the entry in the Timeline that 'hwood' kindly published for me. There are Videos now available from LifeBatt re. Kingston university's entry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqUAUutwn5Y Todays MCN p.14 may also be of interest. RE: TTXGP - DCLUCIE - 18-02-2009 I am glad you are pleased to announce that Alison, any chance of announcing the answers to any of the questions? I am sure all will agree if you don't answer the questions everyone is going to believe that this is just a load of tosh and the people that are trying to run this are so arrogant they can not be bothered with the 'little people'. But as we all know the 'little people' can bite back if you ignore them....... Have some decency Alison and answer the questions please. Take a leaf out of Paul Phillips book and actually address some of the questions. I know Paul comes in for some stick, but at least he engages in the debate, and for this I am sure he earns respect. RE: TTXGP - DCLUCIE - 19-02-2009 Well what they seem to forget is that the marshalls are people who read these threads, and if they don't communicate then I guess some of the marshalls will have things to do straight after the senior..... what goes around comes around ... or maybe not in the case of some of these electric bikes .......... Goalposts have been moved mate... It's now BEFORE the Senior so they have a captive audience. RE: TTXGP - pykey - 19-02-2009 Has April fools say come early RE: TTXGP - DCLUCIE - 24-02-2009 I was wondering if someone can confirm the following 1) Ollie isn't riding the electrics as AIM have refused permission for him to enter 2) The riders who would have come in from the Manx can no longer do this as it is now a full TT race and so would ban them from the Manx after racing in it. I did think this was OK'd by the manx GP lot but not the TT organisers, so don't really know where it stands. 3) There is not enough riders and so the event may fall flat on its face just wondering if anyone can answer these questions .....? Won't hold my breath though. RE: TTXGP - sticky - 24-02-2009 DCLUCIE Wrote:I was wondering if someone can confirm the following On the assumption that TTXGP will either not bother to answer or if they do, answer it with 'spin', let me try... 1) Had a quick Google and I can't find anything to substantiate that but it doesn't actually say on Olie's own website that he IS doing it... 2) There's a post on the TTXGP forum with Caroline Etherington's name on the bottom confirming that anyone riding in TTXGP will be bound by the same constraints as any other TT rider, meaning that they could only enter the Classic or Lightweight races until 2 or 4 years have elapsed, depending on results. This realistically means that only TT riders will be doing it. It was confirmed recently that 13 () teams had confirmed. To date I have only heard 3 names mentioned in connection with it, one of whom is Maria Costello, so does this mean she's abandoning the Manx? I doubt she's quick enough to forge a career at the TT. 3) Probably already answered in the above but worryingly, there's a quote attributed to Azhar Hussain: "Mr Hussain explained: 'There is no way we are going to fail at this because we are the first. Even if no one finishes, that's still a start - not a failure." This basically says that even if the whole thing falls on it's backside, we still have to consider it a success. What a load of full article here: http://www.iomtoday.co.im/tt/Our-man-takes-39Green-TT39.4942343.jp RE: TTXGP - Don Simons - 25-02-2009 News Flash Road opening car for TTXGP seen recharging at the Bungalow during a by invitation only publicity run. It is a Detroit Electric Coupe. RE: TTXGP - DCLUCIE - 26-02-2009 I think this has missed the point Don, they will never reach the bungalow because they won't have enough power left to get up the hill out of Ramsey lol (kidding ... they have a stop at the hairpin to recharge) RE: TTXGP - irishago - 02-03-2009 Its funny ive been reading this thread with great interest and i think a lot of you guys seem to forget that just a little over 100+ years ago a group of 25 guys got together to race against each other little did they know where it would take us . So from those megar beginnings the TT Races as we know them was born. So how long do you think the Worlds fuel resources are going to last. Alternitives are the way forward 2 strokes are already banned in some states in America... I will watch this race with great interest if im not riding in it. So lets just wait and see what the outcome is cheers Irish Ago.... RE: TTXGP - DCLUCIE - 05-03-2009 Arrr Ago I think you have missed the point that those 25 lads actually knew their machines had a chance of finishing..... whereas the silence from alison has definaely defened the shouts for the race itself. RE: TTXGP - Don Simons - 05-03-2009 Ago, I am of the same mind and would love to see the new technology given a roadtest at the TT, but I think we have all been a bit overwhelmed by the spin and hype associated with this particular event. The lack of transparency and open discussion on the boards smacks of commercialism and vested interest. We hope of course that this is not the case and the event demonstrates that there are viable alternatives even if they are whisper quiet. "Electricity is actually made up of extremely tiny particles called electrons, that you cannot see with the naked eye unless you have been drinking." Dave Barry (1947 - ), RE: TTXGP - Chris Maybury - 17-03-2009 I am still of the firm opinion that the best option, using renewable energy and non-fossil stuff, is to have a TT Race using Methanol Fuel and Castor based Oil Lubricants. What will assist the cause will be to run naked bikes or allow non-plastic, hand beaten aluminium fairings. |
