Before the final countdown can I just thank all who have contributed to the countdown. Thanks for the effort in naming so many of the riders where possible. Life seems to go past so quickly with this countdown and it seems i will never be ready in time, but I will be on that boat in the early hours of saturday morning.

Well here we go with the last Countdown posts for this year. It's amazing how quickly the last 100 days have gone.  Many thanks to everyone who has made the effort to participate in this thread.  All you lucky guys who are able to make it over this year, have a great time and get snapping for next year's Countdown.

Well I didn't think I'd manage to remember to post every day but I think I did. It's been great seeing other peoples photos too. The last week or so has really started to bring it home that I'm not going this year though!

I'd like to thank you guys for putting these up. I checked in every day and thoroughly enjoyed all the pics Smile Even seemed to move on the days a bit quicker?

I used to post on the thread, but I don't take pics anymore, I've probably got a million or so in the loft, I looked at them a while back, and I can't even identify the year, location or even the rider in most of them, frankly I'm rubbish at photography and I would rather watch the racing than watch it through a lens. But you guys are superb, and the quality of these images is top drawer. Smile

If I'd have been on my own I'd probably have watched the whole thing through the viewfinder. Fortunately my 12 year old son wanted to take some pictures so I did have some times where I just sat and watched.

That said I think you could count on your fingers the number of photos we took during racing - almost all are from practice!

Just to echo the feelings of others ,  a great big thank you to all that have contributed to this thread , I think that  24,593 hits and 697 posts shows the popularity of the thread , thanks to you Dommy for kicking it off again , and am looking forward to next year and you never know I may even have some shots to post myself , if I can just work out which end of this Cannon to look through , and could do with some tips on which lens cleaner to use that leaves them all nice and clear and not all blurry lol
