RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 14-11-2020 Rob Hodson it is and Ewan Hamilton following. Right, change of year for the next few. You'll be doing very well if you can get the rider but can anyone tell me what the bike is? Clue: It's in late 60s factory colours. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - ago/mh1967 - 15-11-2020 I'm going for Tony Russell 250 Yamaha 🤔 RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 15-11-2020 Nice try but wrong country of origin for both bike & rider! RE: Who, What, Where, When? - ago/mh1967 - 15-11-2020 Well if you're going to be wrong do it big time 😂😂 RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 15-11-2020 Ballabeg S100, rider no idea ... Bike 250 Harley D / Ossa / Bultaco 2-poke ? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 15-11-2020 It is Ballabeg - Pre TT practice. There's probably no chance of getting the rider, who is Wolfgang Pohl. The make of bike is obscure (although I think they may still be going in sone shape or form) and is Italian. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - bsa499 - 15-11-2020 I thought it may be Bultaco too, but is it an MZ? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 15-11-2020 Sorry - not MZ, way more obscure than that! RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 15-11-2020 aha Moriarty - I think your kind clue leads me to Moto Villa ... RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 15-11-2020 Alfie is promoted to Detective Sergeant! A 250 Moto Villa it is. White & orange was the factory colour scheme in the late 60s. When checking I discovered that they made a 250cc V4 with 8 speed gearbox that got scuppered by the FIM's ruke change limiting the class to 2 cylinders & 6 gears. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - bsa499 - 15-11-2020 A Moto Villa, of course. I recall the machine but I couldn't recall the colour scheme. I do remember Chas Mortimer riding a 125cc Villa single with some success though. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - ago/mh1967 - 16-11-2020 Well done Alfie, top man 👍 RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Alfie Noakes - 16-11-2020 ^^ Thanks, much enjoying the thread/inputs/chats and digging around for info - some known a little and some new like finding the Moto Villa.. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 16-11-2020 This one may be a little easier - there's a clue in the picture, so the crew will probably be fairly straightforward, but what are they riding? DSC_4214 by Phatography Road Racing, on Flickr RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Splashdown - 16-11-2020 Looks like a Royal Enfield Constellation motor. Maybe two on the bike could dilute or disperse the vibration!! RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 16-11-2020 It is a Royal Enfield Constellation - any guesses on the crrew? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - ago/mh1967 - 16-11-2020 S100 course, church bends, possibly practice pre TT classic. Still can't identify the crew🤔 RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Jeff Kirby - 17-11-2020 Robin and Annette Daykin. RE: Who, What, Where, When? - sticky - 17-11-2020 Jeff is right with Robin and Annette. I remember seeing them race at Mallory one time (getting on for a 1000 mile round trip) and they were back again the next weekend. Keen as... Right, no kudos for guessing where but who's this? RE: Who, What, Where, When? - Sam Pato - 18-11-2020 Ray Porter. On one of John Donnan's bikes I'm thinking. Unfortunately just seems to remind me of what seems like a whole generation of the top Irish road racers who are no longer with us. Thankfully Ray still is. |
