Is Ryan Farquar's Senior performance the fastest by a rider new to the TT meeting? Average 120 mph

I haven't checked the records, but it has to be. Before this year, 29 riders had lapped at over 120mph, but none of them were newcomers. It's amazing to think that it was Ryan's TT debut - he seems to have been around for quite a while now. A potential TT winner of the near future, without a doubt.

The fastest lap ever recorded by a Newcomer (someone who has never ridden the course before)was David Jefferies in 1996, 115.52mph I think. Ryan Farquhar's lap of 123.48 will be the quickest ever lap recorded by someone racing in his first TT meeting, but he did of course ride in 2 MGP's prior to this

DJ's lap can't be that much quicker than Mick Skene's from the Manx Phil?

That's right Paul - I think Mick Skene did 115.11mph at the Manx so you're only talking about 4 seconds.
