Saturday Superbike Race - Malcolm - 04-06-2011 ![]() Race one of this years meeting due away at 12 noon
No Maria Costello in the race- she has withdrawn from the Superbikes and Stocker classes. William Dunlop - running the stocker in todays race. Gary Johnson - Tried the new shocker last night and while there are still a few bits and bobs it's still the best bike I've ridden. "If the bike is still running at the finish, I'll be in the mix" Ian Mackman - "I've had a good week, although I had a slow puncture last night coming over the mountain." Ian Pattinson - "This BMW is awesome, 196bhp on the dyno, it's so quick." Mark Miller - "The tank on the Aprilia is too small and we cannot do two consecutive laps, so we are going to have to refuel after every lap." Ian Lougher - "Not sure how many TT's I've done now. I'm running two Stockers, and the one for the Superbike has a quick change swing arm on it." Conor - " Cheers for everyones support. Should have gone sunbathing today instead, the weathers so good !!!" Carl Fogarty - "So difficult to choose a winner, but I think McGuinness and Anstey are most likely to win it." Guy - With his good lady out on the grid. Two minute board goes up. Ryan Farquhar is a non starter 12:01 - They're off with McGuinness leading away down Glencrutchery, with Keith Amor following 10 secs later. Guy is away, next Bruce Anstey, then Cameron Donald, now it's Adrain Archibald and then Michael Dunlop, Now Conor takes off. Nest Gary Johnson, then Ian Lougher, next is Dan Stewart, and then Michael Rutter. Next is Dan Kneen, now it's William Dunlop, then James Hillier. Glen Helen Lap 1 First through is McGuinness with a gap to Amor. Now comes Guy closing in on Amor. Now it's Anstey with a gap to Cameron Donald very neatly. Michael Dunlop has caught Archie already, Conor comes through with Gary Johnson on his tail. Dan Kneen and William Dunlop come through together. Cameron Donald comes through over 1 minute behind, Keith Amor is right behind him. Gary Johnson comes through next. After being told of his 30 second time penalty, and calculating the results, Gary Johnson said that he is now going to make a protest, stamp his feet and run off and hide in his van !!!!!! . |
