TT Sidecar passenger unlikely to walk again - Malcolm - 07-07-2011

A sidecar passenger injured during this year's TT has been told he's unlikely to walk again.

Jerry Walker, passenger for Tassilo Gall, sustained serious spinal injuries in the first sidecar race at this year's event following an accident at Sulby Bridge .

He's been transferred to Holland to continue his treatment at a clinic near his home.

As he only had basic insurance and was competing on a Belgium licence, he is not covered for medical treatment.

Offers of help or donations towards his recovery can be made by contacting Wyn Evans on 07624 433540

He was riding on a Belgian licence, BUT, he was also, probably against his own wishes, an ACU licence holder, the ACU TT Mountain Course Licence which he would have to have to compete on the TT Course, he therefore should be covered by ACU Insurance. The fact that he appears not to be just shows that this "Licence" isnt worth the paper/plastic its printed on.
