Greenlight TV Secure Steve Henshaw Gold Cup - Malcolm - 25-04-2012 The Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup Road Races will be screened by leading motorsport broadcaster and programme producer Greenlight Television.
The deal between Greenlight TV and the Auto 66 Club, organisers of the famous race held at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough every September will cover the next three years and will provide fans and enthusiasts around the world the chance to see the close exciting racing the historical 2.43-mile North Yorkshire pure roads circuit regularly produces. Greenlight is delighted to have turned a long-standing interest in this event into an agreement to give it the level of television coverage its history, reputation and status so clearly deserve. Richard Nichols said “The Gold Cup is one of those events that have a place in everyone's hearts, and it fits perfectly with our coverage of major road race events. We've introduced an ever-growing number of broadcasters to Road Racing through the continued efforts of our sales team at international marketing conferences worldwide, and the inclusion of what is now the Steve Henshaw Gold Cup is sure to add to that interest.” Greenlight distribution will take the International Gold Cup to more than 600 million homes around the world, through its own weekly shows and a specialised Road Racing Series which includes other headlines events like the North West 200, the Ulster Grand Prix, selected Irish road race events, the Southern 100 and the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. “We're really looking forward to September”, says Nichols, “we're expecting great racing and it's sure to be great TV.” Race Director, Peter Hillaby said: ‘It is pleasing that the Steve Henshaw Gold Cup Races will be seen world-wide through Greenlight Televisions network of programmes. ‘The Isle of Man-based company will also produce this year’s DVD in full HD for the first time, including the on-bike and kerbside cameras which have always taken viewers into the thick of the action for which the Gold Cup is renowned. It’ll be brilliant for TV viewers, say Greenlight, and it’ll be better still for DVD customers, who will get full races on-bike with individual riders, providing a quality and excitement they’ve never seen before. . |
