Four wheeled thingys - pat slinn - 30-04-2012 Has anybody got any information on four wheel thingys trying to do fast laps this year ? If Mark Higgins Subaru had got even further out of control on Bray, I hate to think of the consequences. RE: Four wheeled thingys - ian huntly - 05-05-2012 I "heard" that a Soap Box Derby has been considered, to be run between races----- Part one (Monday) down Bray Hill to Quarter Bridge, Part Two (Wednesday) from Kates to Signpost, then Part Three (Friday) from Gooseneck back down to Ramsey. The Soap boxes will be set off at ten second intervals. After the Friday Derby the points will be added up from all of the "Three Legs" and the trophies awarded before the Senior Motorcycle Race!! I am not sure whether this is true or it is the result of the after-effects of a bad prawn and I was dreaming ! Or is it the NEW Manx Grand Prix ??? RE: Four wheeled thingys - pat slinn - 05-05-2012 Ian, Now that sounds far more interesting than Subaru's trying to go fast ! RE: Four wheeled thingys - ian huntly - 05-05-2012 Concentrate on the TT and forget this tangential stuff !! We are there to see a TRADITIONAL ANNUAL EVENT....There is no need to add even more stuff onto a great two weeks festival. I can't get round half the other events nowadays. Trim the programme to TT related subjects ! Can you see Winbledon tennis having a chappy in a Subaru driving fast round Henman Hill ?? Or players from Gaelic Football playing a demo match on the Centre Court ?? RE: Four wheeled thingys - ian huntly - 27-05-2012 Does ANYBODY know what is going to try to set a record this year...It is being kept low profile....Any news over there please RE: Four wheeled thingys - chris - 31-05-2012 (05-05-2012, 06:04 PM)ian huntly Wrote: Concentrate on the TT and forget this tangential stuff !! Imagine at the FA Cup Final if they introduced a famous Rugby Football player at halftime, can you imagine the reaction from the football fans, and vice versa.
