CN RACING CONFIDENT GOING INTO SILVERSTONE - Malcolm - 27-09-2012 CN Racing heads to Silverstone this weekend for the penultimate round of the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship with all three riders hoping to improve on their results at the previous round at Donington Park. After a four-month sabbatical, Joe Dickinson made a welcome return to action three weeks ago and after working hard throughout the weekend, was rewarded with a ride into 15th place but the Chesterfield rider will be hoping to add considerably to his points tally around the 3.66-mile Silverstone Arena GP track. Irishman Cody Nally was looking strong at Donington and looking to continue his good form since joining the Hebden Bridge-based team but the Athlone, County Westmeath rider crashed out aboard the ten Kate-prepared Honda Fireblade just as he was making an impression on the leaderboard. Last year at Silverstone, both Dickinson (Superstock 1000) and Nally (Superstock 600) qualified on the front row of the grid before scoring solid points in their respective classes so will be looking for a repeat performance this weekend. Also in action will be Yorkshireman Michael Howarth who sadly failed to qualify at Donington so the former Rugby League professional from nearby Todmorden will be looking to improve and better his 27th place finish at Cadwell Park last month aboard the 1000cc Honda. Dwayne McCracken, Crew Chief: "We had a really good test at Silverstone with Joe and Cody a couple of weeks ago and both were posting some pretty good times so we are hopeful of some good results. Both riders know and like the track as their results from last season prove and with a little more confidence gained and time on the bike now, we expect Dicko to challenge for a top ten placing alongside Cody who was unlucky at Donington. Hopefully Michael can make the cut as well this time as he deserves to have some fun in the final two rounds. I'd also like to convey our congratulations on behalf of CN Racing to Glenn Irwin on winning the British Supersport Cup. He's ridden brilliantly all season long and Chris, Julia and I are delighted for him." . |
