MARTIN BATTLES TO 8TH IN TT SUPERSPORT 2 - Malcolm - 06-06-2013 Guy Martin battled to eighth position in today's four-lap Supersport Race 2 at the Isle of Man TT despite a mystery technical issue on his Tyco Suzuki GSX-R600 Suzuki. But the Lincolnshire rider remains upbeat after completing a final Superbike practice lap prior to Friday's blue riband Senior TT on his Tyco Suzuki GSX-R1000 along with team-mate Josh Brookes - who became the fastest-ever Newcomer on the Isle of Man earlier this week. Guy Martin: "It was a strange little problem that only happened low in the rev range, but it certainly hampered our progress. I could have pulled in but thought, 'what a lovely day to ride your bike' and continued for the fans and sponsors. We did a lap on the Superbike and yeah, I can work with that. Let's see how she goes on Friday." Philip Neill: "A frustrating day for us as we know the potential of the GSX-R600 and a podium was not out of the question as Guy has proved successful in the past. We had a pretty faultless practice week and have now had two small technical issues in Superstock and Supersport. All that is left now is Friday's Senior TT and we will be looking for a podium to finish the TT fortnight off on a positive."
