The Motorpoint British Supersport Championship is set to go down to the wire this weekend at Brands Hatch as former title-winners Stuart Easton and Alastair Seeley both prepare to battle it out for the 2013 crown.

Martrain Yamaha’s Easton heads the standings by 19 points despite a crash last time out at Silverstone as the Scot bids to score the team a debut title in the class. His nearest title rival Seeley, was victorious in the opening race at Silverstone but the Gearlink Kawasaki rider was penalised after the Feature race following a clash with Jason O’Halloran but is ready to fight back this weekend.

Easton and Seeley shared the wins on the Grand Prix circuit earlier this season and the battle for a second crown is set to intensify between the pair.

Billy McConnell was a double podium finisher last time out for Smiths Racing Triumph and will be in the hunt to add to his winning tally this weekend as will Ben Wilson on the second of the Gearlink Kawasakis.

Appleyard Macadam Racing Yamaha’s Graeme Gowland has missed out on the podium since Cadwell Park and will be hoping to end his season a high; he leads O’Halloran in the standings who had his recent run of podium finishes ended at Silverstone. The Australian and the Samsung Honda team are bidding for their first win of the season on the Grand Prix circuit.

Techcare Profile Triumph’s Luke Mossey became the fifth different race winner at Silverstone and will be determined to maintain his strong form whilst Glen Richards, Richard Cooper and Taylor Mackenzie will be bidding to upset the form.

Motorpoint British Supersport Championship standings after Silverstone:

1. Stuart Easton (Martrain Yamaha) 392
2. Alastair Seeley (Gearlink Kawasaki) 373
3. Billy McConnell (Smiths Racing Triumph) 314
4. Ben Wilson (Gearlink Kawasaki) 303
5. Graeme Gowland (Appleyard Macadam Racing Yamaha) 237
