Elation and some disappointment for Martin Jessopp at his Isle of Man TT debut. - Malcolm - 14-06-2014 Riders Racing Martin Jessopp has just completed his first IOM TT, no stranger to road racing, he posted a series of rapid times and 26th-place finishes in both the Superbikes and Superstock races. The Yeovil rider then impressed even further by surging to tenth in the Lighweight. However, Jessopp’s hopes of a flying finish in the prestigiousSenior event were thwarted when he collided with a wall at Governor’s on lap three. At the time of the incident Jessopp was as high as 11th at GlenHelen on lap three thanks to a 118.698 MPH average, posting122.236 MPH at Bungalow and 143.7 MPH at Sulby. Jessopp had maintained and even improved his pace to cross the line in a time good enough for tenth. Martin who started 32nd was 23rd at the time of the incident, a high side after hitting a patch of damp, he was lucky to walk away with just a broken shoulder blade. Well done Martin in your first TT and we wish you a speedy recovery. . |
