Ulster Grand Prix: Peter Hickman to make Dundrod debut - Malcolm - 03-07-2014 New road racing sensation Peter Hickman has confirmed that he will make his Ulster Grand Prix debut in August. The 27-year-old will ride BMW machinery in the Superstock and Superbike classes for the Ice Valley/Motorsave team. The Louth rider finished ninth in a Superstock race on his first appearance at the North West 200 in May. He took eighth as a newcomer in the same class at the Isle of Man TT and set an incredible speed of 129.10mph in finishing 11th in the Senior event. Hickman was also 14th in the Superbike race at the Isle of Man road racing festival. He ended in 13th and 14th positions in the two British Superbike outings at Knockhill on Sunday, riding for the RAF Reserves Honda team. The Lincolnshire man will be joined at Dundrod in August by Tyco TAS Suzuki riders Guy Martin and William Dunlop, plus Michael Dunlop aboard the BMW bikes which he took to success at the TT. Top English riders Dean Harrison and Gary Johnson are also set to take part, the latter still recovering from injuries he sustained on the opening lap of the Superstock TT. The Dunlops will be joined on the grid by fellow Northern Ireland competitors Jamie Hamilton and Lee Johnston, a double Supertwins victor at the North West. Manxman Dan Kneen, who has been making a big impact at the Irish national road races, will also take part and New Zealander Bruce Anstey is another likely starter in the Padgett's Honda colours. The organising Dundrod club will also be hoping to secure the entries of Honda ace Conor Cummins and 2010 hat-trick star Ian Hutchinson. . |
