Tinmouth: “Riding the Honda will be the best Birthday present ever” - Malcolm - 08-03-2015 As women across the world celebrate International Women's Day (March 8), birthday girl Jenny Tinmouth is looking ahead to her first chance to test the Honda Racing Fireblade tomorrow (Monday) at Monteblanco in Spain. Motorcycle racing's fastest female can't wait for her debut with the team, declaring it to be "the best birthday present ever!" Tinmouth remains the only women racer to score points in MCE BSB and has been given the biggest opportunity of her career to join the Honda Racing squad alongside Dan Linfoot and Jason O'Halloran this season. The Ellesmere Port contender admits she has never been so excited to get a season started as she prepares for her on track debut with the Louth-based team. Tinmouth said: "It is a brilliant feeling to be here at the track getting ready for tomorrow. It is amazing to be a part of a big team as it is something I haven't had before and to see the guys prepping the bikes ready for tomorrow is so exciting. This first test with the team is the best birthday present I have ever had! We will be looking at my positioning on the bike this afternoon and then tomorrow is the first laps on circuit, so I can't wait. "I think for me the first test will be about feeling the difference with the factory Honda compared to my bike I raced last year, which was getting a bit long in the tooth - this is the real thing and of a much better specification, so I expect it to feel so much better than what I am used to. After speaking to Dan and Jason they have both said how impressed they were after their first test and with the hard work the team have done with development, so that is something to really look forward to. I am so pleased to have this opportunity with Honda, I just want to learn the bike and build up throughout the test and then I will leave here happy." |
