Treble James for Southern 100 - Malcolm - 07-04-2015
Early entries confirmed for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Diamond Jubilee Southern 100 International Road Races include not one, not two but three James who will be enjoying a three-way tussle in all of the main solo classes, Superbike; Supersport and SuperTwin throughout the meeting.
Current Duke Road Race Rankings Champion James Cowton, who missed out on his first race win at the Southern 100 by one 1000th of a second last year returns with a brace of 1000cc and 600cc Honda’s provided by D.T.R Racing and a 650 Kawasaki supported by Stewart Smith Racing. Fellow Yorkshireman, Jamie Coward returns to the Billown Course, after missing the 2014 racing season due to a serious incident at the Tandragee 100 last May. He too, has a 1000cc Honda Superbike and the 650cc Kwacker for the SuperTwin class supplied by Horizon Distribution and RJP Racing/CMS, with Barnes Racing providing a 600cc Honda for the Supersport classes..
Ulsterman Jamie Hamilton has moved to Cookstown - BE Racing for 2015 and comes to the 60th Anniversary Southern 100 with a 1000 Suzuki; 600 Honda and the popular 650 Kawasaki for the SuperTwin events. Jamie finished seventh overall in the 2014 Duke Rankings, having missed the latter part of season including the Southern 100 due to a spill at Skerries Road Races. James Cowton will be determined to claim his first Southern 100 winners laurels in this Jubilee year, whilst the other two ‘young guns’ will be eager to make up for missing racing round the 4.25-mile course last year and stand on the podium in 2015. |
