Glen Helen - Sackman - 02-05-2015 Hi, does anyone know if the Glen Helen Hotel is opening for TT fortnight? I heard a rumour that it might be!! If it's not are you still able to park there? Cheers RE: Glen Helen - captainsparkledotcom - 07-05-2015 Any more news on this? Presumably Quarterbridge still open for business?, not been turned into an ambulance station or suchlike? QB is still open Captain, I drove past it tonight and people were out in the sun enjoying a pint and observing the rush hour, not heard anything about GH for a while though, I'm guessing you'll still be able park and watch there regardless, as the car park is used by visitors to the glen itself. RE: Glen Helen - Sackman - 02-06-2015 Can anyone confirm? Many Thanks RE: Glen Helen - AndyL - 03-06-2015 It was news to me that it had closed, what a shame. Had an excellent meal in the Inn after watching the Junior MGP from there in 2013. I always wondered how they managed outside TT/MGP weeks, given the out-of-the-way location. http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/end-of-era-as-landmark-glen-helen-inn-closes-its-doors-1-6399275 RE: Glen Helen - Yamanx - 03-06-2015 Now we gotta hitch it from Hawthornes all the way to Kirk Michael, less beer as well, have to have two in the Creg RE: Glen Helen - Kieranzxt - 03-06-2015 The cafe / restaurant behind Glen Helen is open. Swiss house I think it's called. RE: Glen Helen - taxman - 04-06-2015 I'll be there later and will report back RE: Glen Helen - taxman - 05-06-2015 Glen Helen pub was closed and no sign of opening. Swiss House closed in Feb and was not open last night. All is not lost however and two catering vans have appeared on sight. One at the south end of the car park and one right next to the former pub site. The car park van appeared to be selling chips as well as the usual burger type fayre, the one at the pub was selling burgers, hot dogs and nice fresh coffee. |
