Idris Elba Pendine sands - Kursaal Flyer - 08-05-2015 I know this is not even motorcycle related but I see in the news that the actor Idris Elba has broken Sir Malcolm Campells 90 year old 174.8 mph flying mile record . Using modern technology and a Rolls Royce Continental GT Speed, the record has been increased to around 180 mph. This for me says more about blue bird the car and the achievments of Sir Malcolm to set this record all those years ago than the getting in a fast modern car and breaking it Sorry RE: Idris Elba Pendine sands - BcakWeleher - 12-05-2015 I am missing something here? Surely you could jump in any modern supercar and go faster than that? Apologies for my ignorance but why is this a 'record'? RE: Idris Elba Pendine sands - Steady the Edward - 12-05-2015 I suppose it is a record because some one has set up a flying mile run and got the times and speeds verified making it a record , but as you say there must be plenty of modern supercars that would beet that , one for Mr Martin . Hell of an achievement then by Sir Malcolm 90 years ago. 175mph in 1925!!! RE: Idris Elba Pendine sands - Superbike - 17-05-2015 Pendine speed week is on 22nd-25th of May 2015. It's well worth a look, lots of wicked and wonderful stuff to see, great pubs and views. |
