A great racer and a nice lad if you were ever lucky enough to meet him. RE: Steve Hislop - Malcolm - 31-07-2015 I remember it as if it was yesterday. When the "incident" was announced on SKY News, I just new it had to be Steve somehow. Terrible few hours waiting to find out and eventually heard by email confirming that it was in fact Steve that had been involved in the "incident". Brilliant on a bike, on roads and short circuits, and just a straight forward down to earth guy to boot. Very sadly missed. Malcolm. Read the 2001 Interview we did with him back then - HERE RE: Steve Hislop - Revvin rich - 01-08-2015 Up there with the best could ride any bike a sad day when he left us! RE: Steve Hislop - Alfie Noakes - 01-08-2015 113mph on a F2 350 Yamaha was rather good .. way back in 1987 I think. RE: Steve Hislop - Splashdown - 01-08-2015 Hizzy was the best riderĀ that I rode against. One of the greatest ever in my opinion. And a good friend. RE: Steve Hislop - Guy - 01-08-2015 A really great racer, so entertaining to watch, such a loss, R.I.P. "The Flying Haggis". RE: Steve Hislop - Alfie Noakes - 02-08-2015 Had the pleasure of being overtaken by Steve in practice, I was bombing along thinking I was doing well on my 350 then Steve came past on the RVF750 - enlightening would be an understatement .. RE: Steve Hislop - NSR500 - 02-08-2015 The 13th Hizzy Memorial run this year is on the 30th Aug starting at Denholm in the Scottish Borders..... RE: Steve Hislop - AntG - 11-08-2015 One of my first heroes of the sport was Steve, I remember as a kid watching TV footage of the TT and that Norton making my spine shiver, God knows what it was like listening to it from the side of the circuit. 2003 was such a sad year for motorcycle racing losing Steve, David, Daijiro and Barry all within the space of a couple of months. RE: Steve Hislop - Superbike - 19-08-2015 Yeah AntG is spot on we lost many greats that year. Steve was a rare talent in being a short and long circuit icon, 113mph on a 350 f2 in 87 says it all, a very talanted guy that's sadly missed.
