5 manufacturers inside the top ten after FP3.

The final 45 minute Free Practice session ahead of this afternoon’s Tissot-Superpole sessions was run in dry conditions as the threat overnight rain came to nothing.

In a relatively static session, only a few riders were able to improve meaning that Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) will lead the 24 strong field into qualifying this afternoon, his 1.37.750s lap from yesterday standing strong. Interestingly, the majority of riders elected to do long runs, worried about the potential threat of rain that is still forecast for later in the day?

Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) and Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) did improve on their efforts of 24 hours ago to move into 2nd and 3rd as did Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) who ended the combined Free Practices in 4th and 5th positions respectively.

Alex Lowes remained 6th on the Voltcom Crescent Suzuki, he along with Niccolo Canepa (Althea Racing) in 7th didn’t improve.

Ayrton Badovini (BMW Motorrad Italia) jumped up to 8th ahead of outgoing World Champion Sylvain Guintoli who left until his last lap of the session to finish 9th. Markus Reiterberger (VanZon Rehema BMW) found half a second to ensure he will progress directly to Superpole 2.

Luca Scassa (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati SBK Team) finished 11th overall, just missing out on an automatic top ten place which would have guaranteed his spot in Superpole 2. He, along with the riders placed to 20th will therefore fight it out for the final two places in the 15 minute Superpole 1.

Matteo Baiocco (Althea Racing) and Leandro Mercado (Barni Racing Team) both crashed in the final minutes of the session, both were unhurt.
