NORTON TT CONTENDER SET FOR DEMONSTRATION AT MCE BSB EVENT AT OULTON PARK - Malcolm - 19-04-2016 Iconic British motorcycle manufacturer Norton will complete a special demonstration on Bank Holiday Monday (May 2) at the Oulton Park round of the MCE British Superbike Championship when David Johnson will complete laps on his Isle of Man TT contending SG5 Norton.
The Castle Donington based manufacturer has high hopes for their road race campaign this season with their 230bhp machine following positive recent tests ahead of the annual event. Australian Johnson is aiming to build on his previous success on the Island which includes a fourth place in the 2014 Superstock race and a top ten finish in last year’s Senior TT becoming the ninth fastest rider in history. Stuart Garner, Chief Executive of Norton Motorcycles commented: “The MCE British Superbike Championship represents the best of British circuit racing and as a factory Norton are delighted to be able to showcase our SG5 in front of the tens of thousands fans at Oulton Park on Bank Holiday Monday.” Stuart Higgs, MCE BSB Series Director was equally enthusiastic: "Unbelievably it’s over 20 years since Norton race bikes in iconic JPS and Duckhams colours were the symbols of British Championship circuit racing, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the latest racing Norton at Oulton Park. Norton are a great British motorcycling success story, much like the MCE BSB Championship, so to bring the two together is something special." The next round of the MCE British Superbike Championship takes place during the May Bank Holiday weekend at Oulton Park (April 30 - May 2), for more information and to book please click HERE |
