BUILDBASE BMW LOOKING TO CONTINUE THEIR MOMENTUM AT BRANDS HATCH - Malcolm - 20-05-2016 The Buildbase BMW Motorrad team heads south to Kent this weekend, for the third round of the 2016 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.
The team have had a good solid start to the Championship clocking three podiums and a win and fastest ever lap on their superbike machinery at the North West 200 last week. Richard Cooper will be looking to maintain his place at the front of the pack, following his spectacular win at Oulton Park three weeks ago. Lincolnshire rider Lee Jackson will be looking to make further progress at the 1.2079 mile Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Feeling comfortable with his Buildbase BMW S1000RR, Jackson is confident of a positive weekend and Taylor Mackenzie will be out to stay on podium in the Superstock 1000 class. Richard Cooper: “As always I’m looking forward to this weekend’s racing and carrying my confidence boosting ride from Oulton over to Brands Indy will be key. The bike is proven to be good on that small track as Kiyo battled for the podium here last year so we should have a good base setting to start with. It would be nice to get 3 dry days on track as well so we can focus on race set up and be ready for qualifying come Saturday afternoon.” Lee Jackson: “I’m really looking forward to getting back out on my Buildbase BMW after a couple of weeks off. After our last outing I really want to make amends as we really had a tough race day at Oulton and I want to be back inside the top 10. Just like to thank Buildbase BMW for the continued support and giving me the opportunity along with my personal Sponsors.” Steve Hicken, Team Manager: “After a good start to the season for us in both Superbike and Superstock classes, along with winning the Superbike at the NW200 and setting a new lap record, our objective now is to continue with podiums. Our form at Brands, over the last few years, has always been constantly running in the top six, so we would like to think that we can continue in the same manner. In all, I think we should be able to have a good weekend.” MCE British Superbikes – Brands Hatch Friday 20th May Superbikes Free Practice 1 10.15 – 11.00 Superstock 1000 Free Practice 11.45 – 12.15 Superstock 1000 Qualifying 1 14.40 – 15.10 Superbikes Free Practice 2 15.15 – 16.00 Saturday 21st May Superbikes Free Practice 3 10.00 – 10.45 Superstock 1000 Qualifying 2 12.45 – 13.15 Superbikes Qualifying 1 14:02 – 14:20 Superbikes Qualifying 2 14:27 – 14:39 Superbikes Qualifying 3 15:21 – 15:29 Sunday 22nd May Superstock 1000 Warm Up 10.23 – 10.31 Superbikes Warm Up 10.40 – 10.55 Superstock 1000 24 Laps 12.40 Superbikes Race 1 13:30 Superbikes Race 2 16:30 |
