SHAKEY AND IRWIN HIT THE TOP OF THE WARM UP TIMES AHEAD OF RACE ONE - Malcolm - 24-07-2016 "Shakey" by Double Red
Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and Glenn Irwin locked out the top two positions in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship warm up session at Thruxton this morning, firing the Be Wiser Ducatis ahead of Snetterton race winner Jason O'Halloran in the final minutes.
Earlier in the session Christian Iddon had enjoyed a spell at the top, but then Australian O’Halloran moved the goalposts to put the Honda Racing team ahead. Pole sitter Byrne then had his charge of laps, returning to the leading position with his team-mate soon following him up the order to hold second place. O’Halloran was able to retain third place ahead of Lee Jackson who had another strong session onboard the Buildbase BMW and Michael Laverty on the leading Tyco BMW. Jack Kennedy surged up the order to claim sixth place ahead of front row starter Tommy Bridewell and James Ellison, who hit the top ten for the first time this weekend on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki. Iddon and Luke Mossey completed the top ten, with Leon Haslam setting a pace that put him eleventh.
