T5 on ferry to IOM TT - Tripster1050 - 23-09-2016
Aye up all
I have a ferry booking for 2017 race week. Car with 2 adults and a child. I have just been lucky enough to purchase a VW T30 transporter and wanted to know if it can go on ferry under car booking or if it has to be a high car booking or camper van booking. It's just a kombi van not a camper

I did and on three desperate occasions was left on hold then cut off so thought I would ask those experienced in taking them on here

If you are booked on the Manannan, then your booking will be of no use, as they put a mezzanine floor in & have a height restriction lower than a T5.
In addition, if your T5 is a van, then the cost will change (upwards!) if a campervan/motorhome then, as it is less than 5.5 metres, it will be the same.
When I was in a similar situation, I e-mailed the Steam Packet & got a reply in a reasonable time frame - i suggest you try that.

you need to change mate as it will definatly be a van booking rather than car might also bring a price increase aswell

Quick email response from steam packet and no places for the van on current ferry crossing so it's the car or try on 6th March next year for a cancellation or sell ticket and maybe go to Manx/classic TT instead
