Milwaukee Aprilia have completed a two-day test at Phillip Island ahead of Round 1 of the 2017 WorldSBK championship

With running on Monday limited by the inclement weather at the Australian track, the team worked hard to complete a full test schedule ahead of the first round of the 2017 championship this weekend. Riders Lorenzo Savadori and Eugene Laverty both improved their times from yesterday, despite small crashes in which both riders were unhurt.

The team arrived at Phillip Island looking to further improve the new generation Aprilia RSV4 RF, focusing on bike setup and performance consistency ahead of the upcoming race weekend.

The team will now assess the data they have gathered this week and look to gain as much performance as possible for the weekend.

Round 1 of the 2017 Superbike World Championship commences on Friday 24th February with Free Practice 1 at 09:45am (AEDT) (10:45pm GMT).

Lorenzo Savadori #32 - 1'31.449

"It was a good day for us; we worked hard and were able to try a lot of different things with the setup. The weather was better and I was able to complete a lot of laps which was really useful.

We still need to find more performance for the weekend though. We've made a few small improvements today and we need some big forward steps, but the team is working very hard and I am confident.

I feel a lot better at this track, and I am looking forward to the weekend as always."

Eugene Laverty #50 - 1'31.881

"Today was better for us in terms of both the weather and the running we did, and we made some good progress in the morning on the setup and other things we tried.

The afternoon unfortunately was tough and we had a small crash, and it was hard to get the bike working how I wanted it to.

The good thing is that we now have time to look at what we've learned in this test, and hopefully we can put it to use and be strong this weekend."
