With maximum points from the twelve races so far this season, Tim and Tristan Reeves go to Thruxton next weekend in positive mood. Frankly, thus far, they have been in a class of their own, and opponents have been left scratching heads as to the answer.

Thruxton, the fastest track on the calender, could easily change the status quo if recent events are any guide. The defending champions, Hampshire locals Ricky Stevens and Ryan Charlwood have discovered the niggling problem beleaguering their JG Speedfit Kawasaki, and were able to finish within five seconds of Reeves last time out at Brands.

Add to that, the fact they were double winners at Thruxton last year on a track they love, things bode well for them. They do need to mount a serious challenge starting now, if they are to retain the title or even close the gap.

Steve Kershaw/Stuart Clarke are undeniably fast on the Express Tyres/Blinkbonny Kawasaki, but they too have had their share of mechanical problems. But, the gentle Scots, more than any other team, now have the speed needed to threaten the seven times world champion.

Also on local ground, and at a circuit they where have previously excelled, is the Hannafin Kawasaki duo of Ben Holland/Stuart Ramsay. Third in the title chase, just four points ahead of Kershaw, they have a real chance of taking points off the leaders.

Former Superbike star Chris Walker, with Ashley Hawes on the Santander Salt Kawasaki, has had a grim second season. A combination of mechanical problems and on-track drama have thwarting his every attempt. Just two podium visits at Knockhill are all he has to show for a spirited campaign. He will be hoping to put that behind him down in Hampshire.

There is a full entry, with one or two other intriguing names on the provisional list. Former Champion Roger Lovelock has stated his intention to make an appearance with old passenger Rick Lawrence. They are very local, so could well make the trip and spring a surprise or two.

The 600cc Cup championship is alive and well, and headed by Todd Ellis and Chaz Richardson. Ellis came into the series at Knockhill and sits on top of a very elite pile of names, with a healthy series lead. The 600's will be stretched on the former airfield circuit, almost certainly running out of breath on the blindingly fast track.

With three races on the schedule, the notoriously tough circuit is bound to once again deliver fantastic three-wheeled action – be sure to make your way into the paddock and find out what makes these intrepid charioteers tick.
