TT traditions - Chrisp955 - 24-05-2018

I do a couple of things every year. Traditions if you like.
No matter where I'm staying or what time we Dock. We always ride the length of the prom to the terminus pub turn round and back to the port with the Mrs whooping and shouting in my ear. Before we head of to our digs.
And one evening we get fish chips mushy peas a buttered barm and a can of Dandy lion and burdock each and ride up to Marine drive to eat them. In the past we have seen some top riders scrubbing there tyres in up there.
Anyone else have any must do each year

Go and Wave to the fairies as soon as you get on the island

After 2 weeks of not eating properly, with working on the bikes and racing them,
My reward was always the Pork buttie van at the Grandstand,
Sod the price of them, normally had 2,, and washed down with a pint from the beer tent,
Sheer bliss,, And then you think to yourself,
What can I do better next year !
As its only 50 weeks away ! Lol

The first pint is a pint of bushy tail bitter at the bay in Port Erin the best pint on the island in my opinion and after a walk along. the prom.

Must disagree with you there rich. Best pint is the okells in the Rosemount on Thursday night. Straight of the 7pm ferry from liverpool. Park the bike at the digs sling my bike gear in my room. Then run the 100yads to catch last orders

Two for me......

Fairy Bridge (obviously)

And the Manx Smokehouse, for some top notch bacon, to cook on the stove outside the tent as the bikes go past for an early morning lap.......

Getting up early and seeing the sun come up of the sea horizon ... like we used to do for early morning practice then if all went well see it go down again from Peel Castle.

RE: TT traditions - boon345 - 24-05-2018

Fairy Bridge, peel fish and chips, early morning lap when everybody still in bed, over foxdale to the calf

RE: TT traditions - Azman - 25-05-2018

See the fairys. Used to get off ferry and get breakfast at Harrys cafe (shame thats finished). Only other thing is avoid Peel fish and chips (and one or two others as well). Whats the crack with vinegar on the island. Must be worth more than gold cos most of em wont let you get near it in a chippy.
