TT Live App. - veefour - 10-05-2019 Could anyone give me the info on how / where to find & sign into the race commentary + timing app. etc. for this years TT please. RE: TT Live App. - HammerHead - 13-05-2019 Probably no-one really knows yet. With the official website changing URL over the winter but with Duke still operating the previous website address, in all likelihood whatever they do will be new this year. I'm not sure the old app will work as it is no longer available to download. I've just opened it on my phone and the app tells me I have no connection (I'm on WiFi so I know I do) which I guess is down to the content being "cut-off". Watch out for announcements I guess is the way to go. RE: TT Live App. - veefour - 19-05-2019 I have found & tried signing in on the iom tt live 2019 app. but just get Server Error 403 - Access is denied !! TT live timing? - Moose - 22-05-2019 Does anyone know if live timing screen will still be available this year? Old link I have (http://ttlive.iomtt.com/) is not working, but that could be because site is not yet up? Or changed page? Thanks. I'm told that the new app will be up and running soon. RE: TT live timing? - taxman - 22-05-2019 IOMTT.COM was run by Duke Marketing Limited in some form of partnership with the IOM Government. That partnership (as I understand it) has ended and the IOM Government has launched its own site https://www.iomttraces.com/ There will be a new live timing app on the Government site so I hear. I have no idea what if anything Duke may be doing on their own. As the app relies on transponder data then that must come from the Government and I'd guess they won't be dishing it out for free. RE: TT live timing? - Moose - 22-05-2019 Thanks. I've emailed the Press/Media contact on the new site. Will see what the response is. RE: TT live timing? - scaramanga - 22-05-2019 im sure duke still ran the live timing last year after the old forum was shut down RE: TT live timing? - HammerHead - 22-05-2019 (22-05-2019, 02:28 PM)scaramanga Wrote: im sure duke still ran the live timing last year after the old forum was shut down The official website changed in October/November 2018. They shut down the "old forum" on the (now) old website long before that. RE: TT live timing? - milestone 11 - 22-05-2019 I've spoken to Duke today, the live timing that we've had over recent years is no more. My understanding is that the government has refused to supply Duke with the data required to run the system. However, the suggestion is that there will be live timing, but one supplied by the IoM government. Quite why this has been taken away from Duke is anyone's guess. RE: TT live timing? - jeffa - 22-05-2019 What a shame, i loved using that RE: TT live timing? - Moose - 22-05-2019 Yes, I found it hugely informative and very reliable, given the logistics involved. The Mylaps site used by NW200 last week, seemed flakey in comparison, with frequent loss of service requiring a page refresh. I can't understand the IoM Govt's resistance to working with another IoM company. Re-brand if necessary, but why not re-use what was patently working well before? If the alternative they come up with doesn't work as well, it's weakening the 'brand', not strengthening it. RE: TT Live App. - veefour - 22-05-2019 Well I just e.mailed Duke & this was their reply ! Dear Dave, I'm sorry to say that after nearly a decade of providing a very well used and well-liked free service to thousands of TT fans around the World, the Isle of Man Government Department for Enterprise has decided not to allow Duke/IOMTT to access the data that TT Live relies on. We're extremely disappointed that this is the case, especially as there were over 100,000 users of the service last year. We're told an alternative service will be provided but we don't have any details on that. Thank you for your interest. We hope you've enjoyed using TT Live over the years. So that's that then !!!!!! RE: TT Live App. - Chrisp955 - 22-05-2019 Manx government looking for another way of making money RE: TT live timing? - veefour - 22-05-2019 I've been on about this in the General Discussion section, it's no more in its original format thanks to the IOM Gov. RE: TT live timing? - Moose - 22-05-2019 Sorry. I hadn't spotted that thread. Yes, strange attitude from IoM Govt. I have no problem with that, after all, the Duke one wasn't always free, but I imagine we'll be paying for a product which will be inferior to what we had. RE: TT Live App. - milestone 11 - 23-05-2019 I have received an email this morning from Simon Crellin which follows, Dear John Live timing will be available via the iomttraces.com website ahead of the first qualifying session on Saturday 25th May. Kind regards Simon Good news, hopefully. |
