Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - laverda77 - 21-05-2019 Looks like everybody is using "Facelift" now, however ive bike packed with camping gear ready for Mondays afternoon crossing for practice week, first thing i have to do is find "campingaz" refills then head for Peel via Foxdale cos roads will be shut.Happy and safe TT 2019. : RE: Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - Nasher - 22-05-2019 I'm arriving at 06:00 on Saturday - first stop a full breakfast - YUM RE: Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - chris4652009 - 22-05-2019 Head straight up to have a few quiet words with the fairies RE: Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - ago/mh1967 - 22-05-2019 I head up to the grandstand, climb to the top and look around and with a tear in my eye, say hi to my late dad who first took me to the TT in 1968. Just a wonderful moment. RE: Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - Alfie Noakes - 22-05-2019 Likewise Ago/MH - that's lovely, I was born race week 1967 on the Island, my Dad got me into bikes at an early and fully supported my racing and got just as excited about it, sadly we lost Dad last year just before TT, he had stayed involved with racing after I packed up and became very good friends with Dennis Trollope and ended up working with Dennis at his race support van and being pit crew for Dennis and his rider - the late Neil Kent, the pic here is just after Neil had won the 2010 Lightweight MGP - I often wonder if they have the oldest combined pit crew / winning rider, Dad on right was 72 at the time, Dennis a little younger I think and Neil 47. I'm back home this weekend for 3 weeks, all sorts of thoughts going on. Have a great safe / good time all. RE: Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - AntG - 22-05-2019 Well I'll be getting on the island at around 6:30am on the 31st so I'll be off to my campsite to put my tent up which can be either enjoyable or stressful depending on the weather then I'll probably get my head down for a few hours before making my way up to the paddock, get a few photos, grab some fish and chips and eat them sat at the top of the grandstand(again weather permitting). RE: Whats the first thing you do after getting on the Island? - HammerHead - 22-05-2019 Normally I'd say get the tent pitched and that will probably be it, but as we're arriving at 6:15am this year maybe we'll get some breakfast somewhere first. Planning to head to the homestay we've booked, dump off the bags, then head to the Railway Inn to catch what's left of the practice session. Can't wait. Hope everyone has a great and safe T.T. If there's anyone on the island already, can you go and have a word with the fairies and ask for last year's weather please?
