Leading tyre manufacturer Metzeler provided special tyre sponsorship to the marshals who were on duty at the recent Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races held on the Colas Billown Course in the Isle of Man.

All marshals who arrived on their motorcycles were entered in a draw for a set of Metzeler Motorcycle tyres.

Six sets of tyres were made available by the company and the draw took place on the morning of Championship Day, Thursday 11th July by Manx Radio’sTim Glover.

The lucky six drawn out were:

Adrian Rattley   -  Liverpool
Martin Dixon     - Hornsea
Melvyn Collister - Isle of Man
John Lumb        - Isle of Man
Ian Thompson   - Isle of Man
Jeff May            - Isle of Man

Chief Marshal, Peter Chadwick in thanking Metzeler for their generous sponsorship said:

‘The Southern 100 Marshals Association were delighted to have been involved as part of the Metzeler Tyre sponsorship of the Southern 100 Road Races and that the importance of the volunteer marshals has been recognised by the company.

‘All six marshals were well pleased with the ‘unexpected’ prizes and thanked Metzeler and the club for the hospitality afforded to them and looked forward to being at ‘the friendly races’ again next year.’
