CRUTCHLOW EXCITED AHEAD OF AUSTRALIA RETURN - Malcolm - 24-10-2019 There is unfinished business for Cal Crutchlow at Phillip Island this weekend as he returns to the legendary coastal circuit for the Australian Grand Prix riding his RCV in Flex-box outfit for the sixth time this year (www.flex-box.com). The LCR Honda CASTROL rider has experienced both major highs and lows at the venue in recent years, but will now aim to build on his strong performance in Motegi last week as the MotoGP paddock arrives back in Australia.
In 2016, Crutchlow claimed a memorable victory on the island in LCR colours - his first success in dry conditions in the premier class. However, last year’s race proved one to forget as he crashed out, sustaining an ankle injury that ended his season. The Briton is determined to put the record straight this time around and can’t wait to get started on Friday.
Cal Crutchlow
“After a tough weekend in Thailand we bounced back to get a good result at Motegi, so now we want to keep that momentum going at Phillip Island, which is a fast and challenging circuit, especially if the weather isn’t so great. Anyway, I’m looking forward to this race. Obviously last year did not go to plan, so we need to look ahead to this year’s now and try to get a good result after a strong race in Motegi. The team are working well and I’m sure the Honda will go well around Phillip Island race track this weekend.”
