London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 07-07-2004 With all this fuss over a couple of scaletrix cars whizzing up Regent St what about showing Joe Public proper RACING,lets send Valentino and Co to really thrill them. We could also send the roadrace brigade and they could do a lap around the Palace, after all the Duke is a TT fan. Re: London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 07-07-2004 Good idea, perhaps it could rival the Macao races? Re: London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 07-07-2004 Yeah...and how about a few sidecars...Greg Lambert, Geoff Bell, Moly...Up the Strand, round Holborn.... Re: London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 08-07-2004 Then I woke up!! Re: London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 08-07-2004 The prizegiving could be in the palace gardens just like the good old days. Re: London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 08-07-2004 I think its a bloody joke. All I have heard to justify it so far is Red Ken sprouting on about how much money it would make for hotels, shops ect and not a word about safety, suitability or if it would lend itself to good racing. My guess is it would be a procession and they have one allready with the Lord Mayor's Let the real road racing boys&gals try it first on their bikes and then at least some overtaking would occur.Problem is once the public had experienced the bike boys the F1 cars would be a turn off Re: London Grand Prix - Anonymous - 08-07-2004 Maybe you have a point Arthur lets keep our sport a secret otherwise as you say the YUPPIES may move in. |
